I've actually wanted to post something
about the prevalence of emoji's in our society for a while. The video
below (which is an excellent summary of recent events) shows a
comparison between emoji's and sigils that is very interesting.
Nowadays people answer emails with the thumb's up emoji and it really
irritates me. I was at Dollar General the other day and the credit
card keypad asked me to rate my experience and gave me a series of
emoji's to click on. Our society has literally been reduced down to
what we can express through an emoji. God help us.

I find them childish, like drawing hearts and ponies and do dads all over a letter. If you can't put your thesis/opinion in an coherent pattern and make sense, I am not going to try to decipher your magical di-hicky emoji. I know such embellishments are symbology and use of secret meanings and dates. It is much like people will put extra exclamation and question marks on a sentence to try and make "more" profound statement.
I deleted emojis from my phone because they annoy me and are poor at communicating info.
