Hard Water

The RV guy came over yesterday to find out why we had no hot water. First we discovered that the internet guy may have accidentally unplugged the water heater. But the problem wasn't fixed by plugging it in.

After several minutes the RV guy found out the problem. Our brand new water heater, that we just had installed 6 months ago, had a problem with the heating element. He showed us the element. It was completely covered in calcification. It was gross. That is how hard the water is around here. Luckily he only charged us for the new heating element and said to call him in five months and he will come flush out the water heater to hopefully prevent this from happening again.

I asked him if I could just start sending him a monthly check to get a head start on paying him. He laughed. I was only half joking.

I can almost see the weekend from here. I'm thinking pizza for lunch since I have to go down to the little store anyway.

Take care out there my friends.

Any way you can install an anode rod into your drain plug? Old models had that feature. New models have come out without an anode rod, saving them money but costing the same to buy. An anode rod is a sacrificial element that oxidizes hard impurities in the water such as calcium and saves other metal surfaces and devices in water. When it degrades you pull it out and replace with a new one. I would ask the RV guy about that.
Pizza sound good! A cheese stuffed supreme pizza with extra meat and cheese! MGD beer and a comical movie to go with that pizza...
