Sunday Music: Time to Chill

I had an entirely different band picked out for today. But as I was cleaning out my Sunday Music file, I came across A Simple Man, and decided that we should listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd. They remind me of summers past when my husband and I used to sit out under the awning having a beer and enjoying the sunshine. Lynyrd Skynyrd would be playing in the background at a respectable level. Brings back memories of better days. Enjoy!

Lynyrd Skynyrd, nothing else to say, a cold beer and a comfortable chair sitting with the one you love... Heaven right there. The acoustical version of the Simple Man is the best version of that, bar none. They set the tone for the rest of Southern Rock. I fondly remember the days of cruising around, all the windows down, Lynyrd blasting off of your cassette player and all was right in the world.

I got several of their cassettes, lets go cruising! Gas tank is full and I have a bench seat in old Brunhilda...

I would love to - and it is a beautiful day outside right now. 73 degrees and sunny.

A Respectable level can be understood more than one way, Wendy.

My stereo was being played at a respectable level when it was as loud as it would go without it distorting.
A Respectful level takes others into consideration. But that requires giving a hoot about others and that has gotten Way too rare.
You're nice.
Thanks for the tunes. I'm going to hunt the acoustic version, too.
Thanks for the suggestion, Cederq.

My home stereo system is two hundred watts per channel, and I have four channels... four old style 10" woofers, four 4" midranges, four ribbon tweeters. They can crank up to ludicrous respectable levels and will shake walls. Living in an apartment I do not and cannot play at that level unless In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly plays... then it calls out to be as a sonic boom!

Simple Man,a condition to aspire to, great song. Free Bird never resonated with me like Simple Man.

FreeBird resonated with the 18 y o version of me but only for the cRaZy AwEsOmE guitar work of this iconic group. That was 1974 and their performance at the State fairgrounds in Sedalia MO (psychedelics anyone?).
Thanks be I survived my teenager-ness and aside from needing hearing-aids am mostly unscathed from that epic decade of my life.
Agree violently with Tree Mike that Simple Man is the best favorite. This acoustic version is superb.

I know what ya mean, Frankenbean. I've got a few years on ya, graduated in '69, drug and alcohol free. Military and wild women turned me to a brief path of "unapproved" fun and adventure. By '74-'75 I was done with psychedelics, saw some of the lower gods, escaped (apparently) unscathed but wiser. ALL accompanied with awesome music. These days some of those songs bring tears to the old eyeballs.
I'm new here, not sure about the young chick, Wendyworn, but she DOES come up with the music.
