Day 4 - The pure in Heart

(I can't help but post this picture of my little grandson, Joshua. Is he not the most precious thing you have ever seen?!)
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John 3:1-3
God makes us pure when we become His sons by adoption through the blood of Jesus Christ. We who have the hope of Jesus's soon return within us, also purify ourselves because we want to live for God.

The pure in heart will see God (Matt 5:8). The pure in heart love God with their whole body, soul, mind and strength and the pure in heart love the brethren unfeigned, which means not fakely. Our flesh is at enmity with our desire to have pure hearts before the Lord. We place alot of emphasis on whether we feel love or feel pure, when our feelings mean nothing to the Lord. That is why - the mark of true love for God is obedience, not feeling. If we truly love the Lord with a pure heart, we will obey his word.

If you struggle with this - ask the Lord to give you the love you need to love Him with a pure heart and to love the brethren with a pure heart. Loving with a pure heart means not just saying it with your mouth, but that your thought life is lined up with God's word and that you are leading every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Again, if you are falling short of this, ask of the Father who will freely give.

Dear wonderful, sweet, merciful Father, Thank you so much for all you do in our lives. How we have warm beds to sleep in, and food on the table and your mercy and grace when we obey your will. Thanks for strength to continue when our lives seem dark, and thank you for letting us be your sons and daughters. In Jesus name. Amen.

Shalom Wendy,

Your grandson is adorable. I pray you have seen him in person and your daughter. I pray for you and think of you often. I am back in my tent and have been for sometime. I need to obey the Father. I pray you understand.
