The Wedding Planners - Part 4 Countdown: 15 days

Every day there are details that are being taken care of and errands to run. I am mainly being a chauffeur, but I told my mom that I feel like I'm the muscle. I go in with my mom but mainly stand there while she talks and then I drive to the next place. I told her, "You know, how the crime boss has his thug along in case there's any trouble." My mom thought that idea was hilarious.

We stopped at the caterer's for a meeting and then the florist and then the dollar store and JoAnn's fabrics. We went to the nursery and my mom picked out two 1 gallon size white mum plants. She said, "Stay here and guard these while I look around." I said, "Of course. That's what we thugs do!" She cracked up.

Everything around the house is on hold until the wedding. My dad would like me to help him clean out the garage but, "I can't use my garage because it is filled with vases and wedding stuff. we'll just have to wait until after the wedding!"

I dare not say it is only 2 weeks and 1 day away, but the closer we get the more things we have to pack into a day to get ready. Our heavenly Father is taking care of alot of the details as they get handled very smoothly so we are not stressed out or anything. Just very busy.

Thank you so much heavenly Father for how you always take care of the smallest details of our lives. Thank you for always meeting our needs and being so wonderful and merciful and awesome! In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

P.S. I finished the top of the baby Black and Blue quilt and basted it. A baby quilt goes SO much faster than a regular size quilt. I am thinking I may give this quilt to my little grandson. We'll see.

The Ecclesiastes 3:7 quilt

I finished the Ecc 3:7 quilt yesterday. It was technically the first quilt top but it was finished 2nd, where the vacation quilt was the 2nd quilt top but finished first. I named it Ecc 3:7 because that verse is pretty profound for me since it was the Lord Himself that introduced me to quilting. All the materials for the top were once clothes I owned and wore and I had to take all those clothes apart first in order to use them in this quilt.

"A time to rend, and a time to sew; A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;"

The back was a cotton valance I bought at a garage sale for .75 cents. The front has all these seams and pocket marks so it is obvious these were clothes at one time. I slept with it last night and I must say, it is pretty comfy! I will probably keep this for myself because it has so many mistakes, but it is a 100% one of a kind hand-sewn quilt. I've already started another quilt. (A baby quilt this time, should be much faster to complete!) I like to work on it as I listen to various audio teachings.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for always being so awesome and for always meeting my needs. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

The wedding planners part 3 - Countdown: 20 days

My parents are both sick this weekend, but they still worked on wedding stuff like the flower girl basket pictured above. I really feel it is the Lord's will for me to be here right now and my parents said again last night how much they appreciate me being here to help with the wedding plans.

I tried on the bridesmaid dress with the shoes and it looks like I will not need any alterations. Thank you Lord! I did not want to have to pay for that.

It's been a quiet weekend. I am almost finished with my Ecc. 3:7 quilt. Maybe it will be done tomorrow and I can post a picture.

My son's 20th birthday was on Friday, which was also his 4th day of Basic Training in the Air Force. We haven't heard from him yet but we are just thinking that no news is good news. I'm not sure if I posted here about the horrible motorcycle accident he was in a month or so ago. His fingers were torn up and bloody and he had to have stitches on his knee, but he had NO BROKEN BONES! I told him, "You have to admit that it was a miracle from the Lord! He said, "I admit." I trust the Lord is watching over him even now.

There is still lots to do for the wedding. Please pray for healing for my parents, and pray for protection for me from attacks by spirits of depression and oppression that seem to come with the gloomy grey Oregon skies. I rebuke them in the name of Jesus Christ!

take care my friends!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for never leaving me or forsaking me, thank you for taking care of all the little details for the wedding and thank you for taking care of my parents and their health and healing them. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
