Nationwide Flight Disruption Due to FAA Computer System Failure

According to alerts that I got on both my phone and by email (8 of them to be exact) there was some sort of computer system failure that resulted in at least 1200 flights being grounded. This strangely occurred on 1.11.22 at 11:11am eastern standard time.

Probably just a beta test. I feel sorry for anyone that is flying these days.

I guess that hiatus didn't last long. (LOL)

JUST IN: House Republicans Vote Unanimously to Repeal Funding For Army of 87,000 IRS Agents

I had to post this since I was saying that it was all just a bluff that they were going to hire an additional 87,000 new IRS members (who would be fully armed and ready to shoot to kill if necessary.) They could NOT get the people to fill those jobs. First, because they were already way short-staffed before they announced they were hiring the new positions and second of all – nobody wants to work for the IRS. So this was an easy (optics only) way to pretend to give back to the people. I just think it is funny.

Ka-Ching

The RV repair guy finally called us back. He came over and assessed the damage. Our water heater is done for. He gave us an estimate. OUCH. He said the new water heater should be here by next Tuesday. So we will be without water until that is fixed. We are doing ok in the meantime – like I said before – I have prepared for the water being out. I will have to walk down to the bathrooms soon to refill, but also have my stash to draw from if necessary.

My father in law told us he is sending us a check in the mail that should defray most of the cost, which was very generous of him.

Shrinkflation: Burger King Style

So I drove into town the other day and saw a very sad sight. Some guy had the back of his truck filled with cases of water. At least 20 to 30 cases. It looks like he went to turn out of the parking lot and the tail gate came down and all the cases of water slid out and smashed onto the street. Most of them were totally destroyed. So much for that days preps.

I went through the drive thru at Burger King. Two Whoppers with Cheese and one large fries. $20.95. Ouch.

When I got home I took the bottom bun off in order to add some ketchup. There was a hole in the middle of the burger the size of a quarter. I told my husband about it and he checked his burger. Sure enough a quarter sized hole in the middle of the patty. So the burgers were more expensive and had less meat.

It's just a little thing – but I think we will continue to see similar things in the future. Sigh.
