Happy Thanksgiving!

Lots and lots of things to be thankful for today, as I am every day. I'm really thankful to be gainfully employed again at a job I love. Having regular paychecks and not having to be soooo tight with money is a true blessing.

The first month at my new job was physically very demanding, especially after having three years of sedentary work. Then, my weekends were even busier with making potato salad for lunches and casseroles and meatloaf etc., for dinners – not to mention having to do the dishes multiple times a day to free up sink and counter space for the next meal prep project. I literally wore myself out. But I've settled into a nice routine now. I do have a little alone time on my drive back and forth to work, although I've been known, on more than one occasion, to get lost in thought and miss my turn.

Once, on the way home, I started thinking about various things and then noticed I had missed my turn home a long ways back. I saw a familiar street name and thought, I'll just turn here and follow it back into town. It was a gravel road. Now, being basically a city girl, when I saw the sign for “Gravel Ends” I naturally assumed that meant it would be paved. Ha ha ha. Poor ignorant fool. So, several miles down the road, it turned to full on dirt road. Standing in the middle of the road, was a flock of ten or twelve very tall vultures. I can tell you that I've never seen an actual vulture up close and personal before. I guess a flock of buzzards is sometimes called a wake or a committee. Well, the committee apparently voted not to move as my car approached. I thought, maybe this is sign that I should just turn around? Yeah.

I've had no time whatsoever to keep up on blogs and news of the incoming Trump administration, but seeing the ridiculous picks for some of these positions, (as if Elon Musk himself wasn't bad enough) it just makes me think that nothing has really changed. Be careful what you wish for. In a way, it could be worse when the dust settles. In the background, the shots are still being doled out and no one is stopping it. You know what comes after warp speed? Ludicrous speed. Buckle up.

I thought (very briefly) of slaving over a hot oven for Thanksgiving, but since I essentially do that every weekend, I thought I would like Cracker Barrel to do the slaving and I would just drive over and pick up a nice Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings for two. Can't wait.

Things are very good for me, even though I am still ridiculously busy all the time. Real life has taken precedence over online life for the first time in probably a decade. To be honest, it is very peaceful. I'm not caught up in the never ending fear mongering. I like it.

Anyway, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. You take care out there.

But I've settled into a nice routine now.
YaKnow, I've recently had a big change in
Stuff I'm responsible for.
It took several months to get OK with it.
And thank you for your support while I got there.
A group of buzzards can be called:
Wake123
Kettle (when in flight)23
Committee (when resting on the ground or in trees)
The first one is kinda funny. A Wake,, for the dead?
A Committee,, I guess they're figuring out who gets the leg,who gets the breast..
I could not stay focused on where I was going, following the directions and getting to the Location driving trucks to a well site. Turning an 18 wheeler around is a problem. I missed the Truck Route sign and wound up, illegally, driving through a small town. Getting That ticket would have been big trouble.
Yeah,, II understand about missing turns. If I Could get the brain to shut up, I'd probably fall asleep.
