I used to run to a list of quotes from Jefferson in my attempts at getting lefties to understand how to approach understanding the world. The gist of it was
No matter how troubling the truth is, I prefer that, with its emotional pain, to comfortable lies.
That quote? I haven't been able to find it in years. Maybe they turned it back on.. I haven't looked in a long time.Okay,, went to see,, nope,, anyway, it said something about No matter what, My heart will make room for the truth.. I'm not finding it anymore. The library would be the next stop, but it's not that important To Me. I know already.
DR,it's almost as if every cautionary piece of literature and moments in history are used as Operating Instructions instead of things to avoid. When I asked why I needed to learn history I was told If we know the mistakes of the past,we can avoid them. The same people who told me that embraced the idiocy of yesterday and learned NottSchitt.
