Independence Day Eve

Well, we made it to another Independence Day. I wrote about it last year in this post. Can you feel all that freedom dripping in the air this year? Yeah, me neither.

I'm having a hard time posting lately. I have a file on my computer called, 'stuff to post' that has all sorts of links to various stories, but when I finally get a chance to write about it – the story is old and there are new fresh horrors to write about.

Even if I find the extra time to do any research, it is almost impossible with the way they have limited our individual access to the internet. I'm not even talking about out right censorship. I'm talking about trying to use various search engines to find information about anything.

For example, Google, who have long since left their, “Don't Be Evil” slogan behind in order to fully embrace the dark side, has eliminated the list of pages at the bottom. They know we have caught on to their first five pages of links being corporate sponsored. You use to be able to go straight to page 14 of the search to find other relative info. Now they just want you to keep scrolling and pushing the 'more results' button. So what? I'm supposed to just keep scrolling and pushing that button to go through 83,300,000 results?

Duck Duck Go is way worse. If you type in something innocent like “sausage potato casserole” it gives you 60 entries then it just stops and you can't get more than that. The results just end. Hope you find what you are looking for in that limited amount.

Even researching something for Sunday Music is getting hard. They keep wanting to give me choices within my “preferences”. I want to see videos outside my preferences. I want to look for something different I might like. Nope. Access Denied. I've started clicking on music links on other people's websites in the hopes I can find something that is usually outside my wheel house.

It reminds me of an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation where Dr. Crusher was on the Enterprise and people started to disappear. After awhile, she found herself on the bridge, alone, and she was the only thing that existed in the entire universe. Our individual universes are starting to collapse. Soon you will have only 30 search results, then 10, then 2. You have a choice – this sausage potato casserole recipe or that one. Both sponsored by Taco Bell ala Demolition Man.

So Independence? It is gone. The slow contracting of our individual prison cells is almost complete. (Just in case - If you find a sausage potato casserole you like, write it down. It might not be there the next time you search.)

Take care out there.

Don't despair Wendy...you are going through a normal slump. The summertime is for outdoor activities. So get out there and absorb some of nature's energy ⛮.
You are correct as usual with your summation. But what can you, or even us, do about it? Not much, so just enjoy this day that the Lord gave you.
And can some more green beans or peaches!

I use Bing, I know it's just as bad as the rest but I do make a little money from them. I do a daily quiz & get points & for doing searches throughout the day. The grandkid is always looking something up. 5250 points redeems for $5. I put it in my Amazon account. Takes just about a month to get the points. I'm over $2000 in total. The others ain't never given me diddly.

I use Pale Moon and Brave(Duck Go Go as my search engine) as my browsers and use both at the same time and I have noticed a diminished ability to find pictures of old trucks, trains and camping. and don't even ask about the medical search engine I use in my chart audits. The first numbers of pages are paid to be first and most of the time are not the information I need on treatments, procedures, therapies and drugs. I have to search in the back and even then they are highly edited or not complete. Or, no citations or original authors. I have to list the citations/authors and studies in my summations.

You are right, "they" are limiting our ability to do research and find the truth. Truly an unenlightened time we are living in.

I saw it so many years ago
Every time they get us looking one way they run another line of fence behind us.

Keep swinging..
